Hello Everyone,

I have a 97 LX 450 that I picked up last year to replace my 92 LC. I love the LX, but I noticed that the rear part of the running boards sags about 1 inch below the rubber boot underneath the back doors. (my 92 didn't have running boards, I installed Manik steps on my old 92)

Is this a simple fix for my LX? ie, should I use my floor jack to correct the bend on the bracket that supports the rear part of the running board? If I do use a floor jack to correct the bracket, do I risk damaging anything? i.e. ( could the bolts from the bracket rip from the truck body and frame if I use a floor jack underneath the bracket running board to lift and correct the slope of the running board?

I've seen several LC,s LXs and 4 Runners with this sagging running board problem, and I did a search on running boards on this msg board to try find a solution, but I couldn't find any msg addressing this problem. I've seen plenty of posts on sliders, (I'm not sure what sliders are) but we don't off road much, my rig is only used in 4x4 for family snow trips up to ski slopes.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think what you are seeing is a problem. I am almost positive that is the way they were designed.

That is probably why you haven't seen anything here. If you try and use a jack, I think you will cause damage, because the inside of the RB is already flush with the lower rocker.

You need a little room or the door will not close right without crushing up the plastic. Yeah, thats the way mine was when I got it.

yup, some adjustment possible IIRC
but lay off the twinkies, eh!
