Finally busted a leaf in my front spring pack. I have Chebbie 63s out back with 14" travel shocks hung into my cargo area. So I took my spare tears and stuckem in the front. Running 37s SUA with 2.5" backspace and 1" body lift.

The pin is offset and I wanted the long side fixed aft to the frame so the range of motion would be great and not effect my approach angle. I had to move the hanger back 2" to accomplish this, which still moves the axle forward an inch or so, which I wanted to do anyway. Also resulted in about an inch of lift.

I have 6" shackles, in the stock location that would result in too steep of an angle and inhibit articulation so moved the front hanger back a couple inches to accommodate. I am ecstatic about the angle.

Having an 80 series driveshaft fitted to take advantage of longer slip. Still need to roll the rear fenders only rubs a bit... New rims and tires next week.

All in all it's the super low, super droopy beast I wanted. Without torsion bar up front she wanders bit but I'm confident in saying RUF is a huge improvement.

Shackle angles static vs dropped.

My 12" travel bilstein is limiting travel at this point, gonna need some 14"s...

Looks great! I've had j6x rear springs up front for a few years (in SOA config) and agree, it's awesome! Nice work man.

Nope, I have the shackle up front, but I'm also outboarded.

60 rear springs came in two configs as far as I'm aware, a centered spring pin and an offset spring pin. It's hard to tell, which version did you use?

How's the ride? Did you take any leafs out of the pack?

Centered spring pin but I turned the springs around so the short end points forward and gave me more range of motion and articulation and stayed shackle front.

Got any good pics of your setup?

Yessir. Front shackle hanger is only a couple inches back from the end of the frame. I built out the frame forward about 2" to accommodate the outboarding bracket.

YES. This is sexiness. 90 FJ, do you have pics or a post I can review your chevy rear conversion and how you mounted shocks inside cab in rear?

***Edit: Just read through your battewagon thread. You are SUA? Or SOA? If SOA, please chime in about your rear chock upper mounts.

About to do chevy swap in rear in 3 weekends. I am also SOA etc.

GLTH that looks great!

Randy I'm SUA, pretty sure the lowest 60 series on 37s with 18" to the ground from frame.

Kinda see the shocks here, used F150 shock towers. Woulda tied into cage if I had it in at the time.

Looks killer! I'm hoping to one day go with 3/4t 63" springs in the back and move my rears up front. Question though, what made you decide against doing a shackle reversal at the same time?

GLTHFL60,
What hysteer setup are you using? I've seen that on FJ40's but not cruisers. Different than my 6 stud hysteer setup.

How long are the rear springs being used up front?

I don't like the added height or geometry of shackle reversals.

Looks like it pulls pretty good
Funny I was looking up gambler 500 to find out about your car and this video came up
