I have a 2004 LC, stock with torsion bars cranked. I am hearing a sound out of the front drivers side when I pull in and out of my driveway at low speed. It is related to the movement of the suspension but when I have someone jump on the bumper you cannot hear it. Thought is was a bad shock but I removed the shock and with no shock in it still makes the sound. Then I WD-40 all the torsion bars points and that didn't help. CV boot looks fine too.

Any ideas what else to look at?

Trunk Monkey, have taken wheel and shock off looking for rubbing and have had no luck, will try to give a listen in the next few days.

Also I purchased a Silver Star how do you get it displayed by my user name?

Check your sway bar mounts. They can make noise if the bolt is loose on the LCA. It may also be a ball joint that is worn and shifting slightly. I tore my entire front end apart due to a pop/squeak and it ended up being a lower ball joint.

Doesn't sound like a ball joint but I will check it. No popping or binding like when a ball joint is bad or going bad. And it has no affect on the driving of the vehicle nor can I feel it through the steering wheel. Just the sound at low speed coming in and out of a driveway.

I had that sound too, mainly first thing in the morning backing out of my sloped drive and onto the level street. I was getting the popular clunk/thunk as well. Pulled both drive shafts, cleaned the splines, greased everything up real good and put back together.

No more grinding crunching sounds and no more clunk/thunk!

I'm guessing as the suspension mad the transition from sloped to level in a turn, the dry drive shaft splines were moving more than normal and grinding. Call me crazy, but it made the difference.

Per 2000UZJ, check to be sure your sliders, assuming you have them, have at least 1/4" clearance at body locations.

A couple guys have experienced some chassis noises after installing full under armor...just another thought. And check to be sure whatever skids you do have are fully tightened down.

If you have aftermarket bumpers be sure you have at least 1/4" gap at the body/fenders for flex clearance between frame and body for same.
