My friend just called; he left the lights on and his diesel 60 is flat-dead. Can I boost him with my regular 12v battery without screwing it up?

Found out. No problem.

What did you do if I may ask? :)

Just winged it: attached + to + and - to -. I wasn't sure which battery to jump, so I went with the left-side one since it was closest to the booster truck. I knew already that you can't ground to the frame when going 12v to 24v, so you have to use the (-) terminal on the battery at each end of the cables.
