UPDATE!!!
Birf is not broken! Problem lies with stripped splines (I think)
That still doesn't explain why neither stub shaft was spinning, though...
One thing to check very carefully, sometimes you just blow the splines of the driveflanges. If so, you scored big time.
Both ends of the axle (diff side and flange side) are very worn on the passenger side.
Has anyone heard of stripping out a spider gear?
Stop posting and get wrenching Lane. We need to see some pics dude.
You don't have to pull it all apart to get at the birf.
Remove caliper
Take off 6 studs on felt seal kit.
Remove 4 nuts holding lower control arm.
Remove 2 bolts holding top trunion bearing.
Remove abs sensor.
Remove end cap and snap ring.
Remove drive flange.
Remove nut, star washe and lock nut.
Pull hub and nuckle as one unit.
Good luck.
Do you have any friends that know how to take pictures and post them?![]()
LOL! This is almost like we're standing around him heckling him in person... a virtual wrenching party if you will....
time to drain that dif.... got a magnet handy?

Yeah, I have a feeling the diff might have let loose a little....
Eric--you ready to give him the reach around?
