Hey everyone, I broke the connector plug in the back of the alternator. Old threads say cdan could hook it up but that was years ago. Anyone have a part number or advice? Thanks!

Got it out with pliers. Plastic connector is all broken. Would you run it like this or replace? Ok to drive it like this temporarily? Only concern is the wires could come out.. what do y’all think?

I’d run it for a while. Paint the liquid electrical tape on it. I might have one of those in my stash but it’s just as old. I think most are still avalible. I’d go that route.

You can fix it properly with a connector off Amazon for cheap and it looks just like the oem connector.

Simple solution: buy all the part numbers mentioned here, plus the Amazon stuff.
Something in the mix will work, and the other stuff goes into the "maybe-useful-at-some-point" bin.

Thanks ! mine crumbled like a cookie ! Thanks for the info

Hey guys, my connector crumbled too. About to order the plug and pig tails. What would be the correct way to fix it? Cut and re-solder right at the end and insert the new spades into the new connector and call it a day? Also, is the tool (like the one witsend has) for the spades necessary? Thanks in advance. 👍

The new terminals come with 6" pigtails already crimped. I just cut off the old and soldered.
Some folks prefer crimp butt splices, but I prefer to use solder and shrink.

Beautiful. Thanks for the input. Cheers
