My 80 runs normal when in Park. As soon as I put it in gear, Reverse or Drive, it starts bucking like it's missing. Any suggestions. Changing sparks plugs when I get home this afternoon. Any help would be appreciated. New to my 80. Had it about 6 months so still learning about it. I do not consider myself a mechanic, but I don't mind doing things myself once I do a little research and get good advice. Thanks for any suggestions or help. Love this site!!

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Just got home. No, the check engine light is not on. The first time I had an issue was last night around 9:30 when I cranked up and left the local high school football game. No signs or issues before. I put it in Drive and it started acting as if it were missing. If it's in idle, it seems to run as normal. As soon as I put it in gear, the rough running/missing starts. I don't think it's a spark plug issue going to change them out tonight or tomorrow. Also going to look for a line that has come off.
Check the large air filter to intake hose for cracks.

I let it run for a while. I noticed the longer it ran while in park or neutral, it started to miss a little. Nothing like when in gear, but it is missing some when not in gear. I checked for like lines that may be disconnected but didn't see any. I will look for cracks tomorrow and replace the spark plugs. It's raining right now and I don't have a garage to work in. If that doesn't help, she's going to the shop Monday.

I had a bad spark plug wire. Replaced the plugs and it still ran rough. While it was running, my mechanic saw a spark plug wire fire up. Replaced the spark plug wires and no more rough idling.
