Lookin' good! I heard you guys used my drill for the snorkel! Glad I could contribute at least a little as you helped me put mine on!
See ya this weekend! I like exclamation marks!!!
I'm glad Alvaro had it with him to bring -- it worked perfectly.

You forgot to list the AVO turbo ! :D
Bet your rig gets alot of double-takes at the Lexus dealership!
Yeah, I used to get a bunch of double-takes and the technicians would walk around, look under, etc. :D
The service guy that I went to whenever I brought her in used to comment that mine was the only rig that they serviced that ever went off road (to their knowledge).

AVO Turbo :D Yeah..."forgot" about that one. I guess I'm committed to installing one of those eventually.

Nice rig, I like the FIAMM horns upgrade. How its sounds? Deep one? I didnt like the factory horns sound of the LC/LX, been thinking to upgrade it but havent had time to decide which good one.Currently still looking for Solid Deep Tone.
BTW, you got PM. :D
The FIAMM produce a nice deep tone. If you decided to drive out to the beach this weekend, you can hear it for yourself ;)
I installed one high tone and one low tone to get a "chord" or combination -- the OEM has a high and a low tone, so I thought it would be best to stick with a combination of tones. It sounds like the sterotypical "american" car horn. Nice deep and loud :D

Doug,

That pic on Hell's Gate gives me the creeps!

I love your truck and the mods you've done to it. Nice to see one with a few bumps underneath. My muffler looked like yours for awhile and eventually rattled so bad I couldn't stand it. Seems the internal baffles come loose after a few too many dents. It was still in good shape and kept the 80 quiet but the rattle drove me nuts.

Can't wait to hopefully see the rig in person at SnT, nice battle wounds

I broke three exhaust mounts on the last trip. It's rattles like crazy right now at start up. I need to get it fixed either tomorrow or Thursday -- before I try to get her airborn on those Pismo Beach dunes.

Nice Doug- Your rig was one of the first ones I saw on Mud and was my desktop for a couple months. I still love it! If you ever want to make the trip up to Portland, I will gladly show you around Browns Camp.
Thanks!

My father-in-law lives in Hood River, OR -- we make it up there on occasion. We've been talking about an extended road trip the next time. I'd love to run some trails around there.

NC Doug very cool rig! Any possibility we can get some interior shots driver and passenger side cabin?

Ahhh....your underside has more dents than Ray Charles' car! Glad to see the Lexus gettin' used!

Hey Doug, are those stock rear lower control arms? A few of us have David's beefier ones. Does it affect your driving at all?

See you Friday night at the campfire with the shrimps and tequilla!

Nice work on the snorkel install - Doug, you must show your magic driving gloves ;)

I have had the chance to wheel & drink with the unstoppable Norcal Doug - see his LX climb Potatoe Salad Hill in Moab :D

Quick Time movie HERE might take a bit to load - DL-QT here free

see ya in a few days

Doug,

Very nice truck and great writeup.

One Question:

Could you post a link for the aux. fuse box....i like that thing alot and with added electrical items, its only a matter of time before one is needed.

Thanks,
B

What would you like to see in particular? Let me know and I'll snap a couple pics.

All I have right now is a shot of the speedo/odometer and one of the GPS and XM.

Yes, those are OEM. I also have David's lower control arms. Bought them some time ago, but haven't installed them yet.

So far, I haven't noticed any problems with drivability -- no odd vibrations, etc.

I bought mine at my local West Marine store.
I happened to find the same one on their website. Click here.

It comes with a bunch of pre-printed stickers and some blanks.
I'd like to find a better place to mount it (in the engine compartment). Maybe on the 2nd battery box once I get that installed.

It looks like this:

Thanks alot Doug, now I gotta redo my wiring again!!

Yeah, mine's been this way for a while too. Did the latest 80Con with it, even thought the new mounts are sitting in my garage. It's shifted so much that in certain situations the muffler actually contacts the T-case flange on the rear driveshaft!

I tried to find a decent place for one of those - couldn't and gave up, returned it. It is a quality product tho!
