I had three of the nuts in the roof give way and need to replace them. I am thinking I will remove all them and replace with rivet nuts
Has anyone been down this road that can reveal some tips and tricks.

Thanks.

Shane

Subscribed...I have the same issue with the pillars that hold the read spoiler on. There is a bit of friction when torquing the bolts but they end up just spinning. I'd love to figure out a way to get them out. Others have told me to cut the pillars but I really don't see a way to do it without damaging the paint.

Might check the 80's page. There are numerous post regarding removing OE roof racks.

I found lots of threads about removing the racks, mine has been off for two years. At that time I spun two nuts off the underside of the mounting face and one last night. Now I have three holes.

Are the heads stripped out? Or the threads jacked up?

Nuts are spot welded to the inside of the roof panel. They twisted off during removal, so I have three shallow holes. And it blows as I'm in the middle of this roof rack.
