Roof Rack Comparisons/Options (1 Viewer)

I did a search. Could not find anything comprehensive or concise. If the info exists please direct me to it.

I am really impressed with the Diamondrax product and pricing. Before I pull the trigger I would like to get some feedback from the gallery.

Are they as solid/good as you like?
Are there any options that are comparable in construction at a lower price?

I think it's definitely worth considering.

I think you're not getting a lot of responses because not many people use big, heavy steel basket racks anymore. There are the cheaper flat tubular racks like the Gamviti, Gobi and Baja. And the more expensive modular flat racks like the Front Runner, Eazi Awn, Rhino Rack and Lab Rak.

Have you looked at the Lab Raks? My review of their Expedition rack is on page 34 of this months TCT Magazine.

I have a front runner... TONS of options to add onto it (tent platform, awning mounts, Jerry cans, etc). This, combined with free shipping is what won me over. It was a PITA to put together, and get on the truck.

The Eezi Awn K9 is also a stout looking option that sometimes I wish I had considered instead, mainly due to the planks running length wise, instead of width.

In my research, the main downside to the Baja was it is prone to rust when the PC starts to flake.

Nice write up Klaus. The price though. Ouch. I'm trying to find the marriage between cost and functionality.
