Hi All,

I dont want to make this long and thank you in advance.

Its down to these 2 for me. I know there are a few other really good ones but these 2 are the ones to pick from.

More context:

I have a 200 series (duh). I have a front summit bumper and rear slee bumper, carrier and ladder.

I am the least technical person on this forum...! funny but true. I can barely plug in a lamp! lol..not that far from truth. So I need an easy to use roof rack. I need to be able to tie accessories down or use it as easy as possible with aftermarket parts/ tie downs, straps, etc etc. I wont be using a tent (ever). I will be carrying lots of "other" outdoorsy things. Bike, cargo boxes, luggage, bags, etc etc/

Cost between the 2 is about the same, give or take $1800.00 from my research online. I am not worried about the wait. I am patient and prepared to wait 3 months during these crazy times.

Which one would you get knowing the above.
Thank you all again!

The Frontrunner has a lot of accessories/mounts designed for it that can make using it for various purposes more convenient. I know many people have been happy with it. I currently have the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform and I think I would have preferred the Frontrunner, if only for the ability to mount their camping table underneath. That said, I'm planning to move to Prinsu or Dissent for a sleeker/low profile setup. I can't comment on ARB as I have not seen or used one, but it appears that they are starting to build out their accessory/mount catalog to put it near par with Rhino and Front Runner.

I can only speak for the Frontrunner. I have had a Slimline 2 for 4 years and it's been perfect for my use. The slot system and accessories, while a little pricey, are endless for mounting solutions. Most recently I mounted a Roofnest Falcon XL RTT with brackets from Wheel Every Weekend and and an ARB awning making it a great platform for roof top tents. In the winter I swap the tent for a ski box. I have also mounted Frontrunner's storage boxes and their eye bolts are great for tying down bigger objects like stand up paddle boards.

I know you already said its down to these two but ProSpeed just introduced their 200 rack and its really cool. Lots of accessories and it appears to be the lowest profile on the market. I ordered one and hopefully it'll be here in about a month. It's half the price of the ones you are looking at. They are big in the 100 series and the GX line. At least worth a look IMO. 08-20 Toyota Landcruiser/ Lexus LX570 200 Series Prospeed Roof Rack - https://prospeedrack.com/products/08-20-toyota-landcruiser-lexus-lx570-200-series-prospeed-roof-rack

Only 3 crossbars? WTH?

Where do you see that? Also, you can buy extra if you need them. Not sure why that's an issue. I just posted this as a new alternative since its such a low profile and not everyone knows who they are.

On their web site. I just followed the link you posted and here's the pic:

I count 3 crossbars.

Checked to see if additional bars were available, but none listed yet for the LC200/LX570. Bars for the LX470/LC100 were available, maybe bars for the LC200/LX570 coming soon?

In any event, when comparing prices, one should probably factor in the additional cost of bringing this rack up to the requisite 6 crossbars, no?

HTH

It comes with 8 cross bars and 1 is used for the deflector. I contacted them directly to confirm.

Sooooo I love my Front Runner Slim Line II. Tons of accessories and built extremely well. If you are NOT accustom to mounting the accessories it can be a "tad" difficult.
Otherwise I love it...No comment on the ARB Base Rack but at the end of the day ARB knows their Sh_t !
Can't go wrong either way.
Good luck.

Have a base rack on my 100. Keep in mind 2016+ are not compatible, they are being redesigned AFAIK. Plenty of accessories directly from ARB, and they also offer T slot adapters for anything that you need bolting down. They did not include the wind deflector in my shipment, told it was an ARB issue and they stopped sending them. I was compensated with a light bar however, so not sure how that has been remedied.

ARB has already released the update to accommodate the antenna fin on the later vehicles.

Base Rack here. Looks nice and it feels tough enough.
Still waiting for the food kit to come frome Aus to Bavaria… maybe in 1,5month.

I recently installed the updated version of the ARB base rack and I'm very impressed with the build quality. Single piece aluminum welded rack is a plus but it does makes installation more tedious and difficult. All said and done. The wind deflector is included in the updated kit and so far I don't hear any noise in the cabin though I've only driven on local roads so far. More details on the other thread:
