I've got a 2001 LX470 with 2 or 3 large dents in the roof. Probably 4 or 5" long and 2" wide, so much larger than a dent removal tool could handle. Does anyone have any suggestions for removing the dents? One thought I had was to place a spreader on the floor of the cargo area with the top of the spreader in the middle of the dent and expand the spreader until the dent popped, but I'm not sure of the advisability of this, or whether the spreader would be able to apply enough force to pop the dent. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on removing these dents? I should mention that these things don't drive me crazy or anything, so this is definitely an appearance thing, not a structural thing. I usually don't even think about them until I'm washing the car.

Thanks in advance.

You could try dry ice or the duster air cans. Basically gets the metal super cold and pops back into shape. I've had awesome success with it, and I've also had it not work.

Interesting. I've never heard of this approach. So I would just lay a piece of dry ice over the dent and wait? Does it matter that the dents are at least 5 years old (probably older)?

Pics always help to give advice and see how big it actually is.
Okay. Here's some pics but the dents are tough to see because they are right where the black moulding is. Hopefully you can get a sense for them. There are 2 dents that look to be about the same size.
