Pics of my ride from my 10" lift post. It only ended up with 6-7 inches in rear and about 9" in front. It is a work in progress, still have to put in alot more bars in the cage. Need to make one or 2 more trips, then will swap axles to my Rockwells and stretch the wheelbase to about 123". I plan on this in mid to late February and will post pics. This was the rig that was 4 sale in houston on craigslist. It had 2" springs, 35" procomps and no cage or seatbelts when i got it. Paid $1400 with new fuel pump and battery. Added tires, lift, gears, locker front, welded rear, cage.

Like it!:)

Nice! Well... specs? Did you do anything special as far as steering geometry and control arms? or are you saving all that until you put on the rockwells?

cut the coil buckets off front, flipped and relocated, lengthened track bar, slotted control arm brackets and welded very thick washers over slots after i rolled the axle. Still have to make front shock mounts. Rear i cut out coil mounts and built new ones lower on frame and relocated upper and lower shock mounts, lengthened track bar. I plan on new steering linkage this week, it is working but i am afraid the end links will break soon because of so much angle.

It's gonna need the world's biggest bikini top for shade in the Houston summer sun:cool:

Looks like a good start, it's pretty tall and Rockwell's will probably raise it a few inches more. Work on triangulation with the cage as 80's are heavy to start. Can never have too much strength in a cage. Did you attach the cage to the floor of the body or go through to the frame?

Well, of course i dig it... loves a chopped up 80.
I like to lose more body than roof though. My roof never got in my way on a trail... as far as the trail is concerned, you're still full-bodied...
keep up the good work!

Love the way it looks

nice.
I'm so doing that if I ever roll mine.
What sort of windshield plans do you have in mind?

When I saw that for sale, I really thought about buying it. It's great what you have done to it!!!

Is SomeOne Finally going to throw Rockwells under the 80! F-ing AMazing! with a stock 112" wheel base I'd go 5" stretch in the front and 6" in the rear. All assume a minimum of 46" tires which means lots of trimming :D. While you're at it, I'll 4-link the rear, 3-link the front and coil it over!

Can it please be Feb. already! this will be a great build hope it gets executed, Best of luck.

What size tire you going with once you do the rockwells??

Rockwells will happen. I already have them built and sitting in my shop floor. Wheelbase will be 124" stretched 6" in front and 6" in rear. 44 pitbull rockers, unless the guy who bought my buggy sells me the 46 baja claws back. As to the earlier question about the cage, it is tied directly to the frame at 4 points and 4 points to the rock sliders which are 1 1/4" schedule 80, and i still have 2 more bars to tie into the sliders. The sliders are tied to the frame at 6 points with 1/4" plate. I do not have a converter and my exhaust runs inside the frame with a turbo muffler. It runs better than it did with converter and no muffler.

Sorry to knit-pick here... the passenger front seat is using a third row headrest... it just doesn't look right with the others.... makes it look Cattywampus:flipoff2:

I used my 3rd row headrests in the two remaining seats of Lorena... they sit taller

land speeder breath deep. inhale exhale than pat yourself on back for that observation

Just disgusting. I LOVE IT!!!!!

New pics

did some wheeling in the rain on slick clay, about like ice. rolled to the left, and the right, added some more body damage, and built a nice new front bumber and added Warn 8274.
