I've been wanting to replace the rockers on my 60 for the last few years. Found a rust free set out in Arizona. Finally getting around to it now. All new floor pans and covers going in while the bottom is off. Might try to clean the top of my transmission too since i'll never see it again. Plan is to get this project done by the end of May.

thing done soon

Excellent.

Awesome! Curious if you have plans to tidy up the lower rear tailgate? That’s on my todo list but am nervous to trail blaze, haven’t really seen concensus in the sort forum on how to fix other than swapping it out for a unicorn.

Lower say 3" of the tail gate is convex in both directions. Putting in a piece of flat sheet metal only following the curve over the width of the tail gate will be highly noticeable. Perhaps using two pieces run through a slip roller will work. I say two pieces because full width would require one huge slip roller.

I just did the bottom three inches on my tailgate a couple of weeks ago. Definitely a pain in the ass, but if you have some patience, along with a hammer and convex body dolly, you can make it happen. Convex in both directions and all. Slip roll would make it easier for sure, but it's not required.

This is a crappy angle finished pic. Skim coat of bondo over the weld seam and hopefully no one will know anything happened.

Plenty more pics in my moonshine thread.

F ya! That’s the shizzle! @GLTHFJ60 do we need to fold ove the ends of the outter metal to roll over the inner or something like that?
Inspiring... I’m shooting for “better than today” so might hack it up a bit without the fancy body tools that I don’t have access too. Was kinda surprised there aren’t more repairs of this on the forum but hearing about the angles, convex now makes sense.

Yeah, not quite as easy as body work on a 40. On the tailgate I didn't bother with folding the outer skin over, just welded the seam as a lap joint. I did recreate and fold the seam over on the doors I've repaired, just didn't feel it was necessary on the tailgate.

Don't need many fancy tools, just a hammer and dolly, plus the normal metal working stuff like an angle grinder and welder.

Dont want to clog up @seanroe1 's thread any more though. Head over to my moonshine thread (see signature) for many more pics showing the process.

Is that the original floor or a replacement?

It's a replacement. My front floor boards were patched from previous rust repairs. Had to take these out to replace the rockers correctly. This was easier and its in 1 piece.

Stellar man.

Tell your guy to use dry ice to freeze that tar on the floor, and itll chip up much easier.
