I have switched rear end trying to get rid of a roar in the rear end. I was told by two shops that rear end was bad and I would need new third memeber. Switched rear end out and it is still making a noise.

Any suggestions.

Thinking about just selling land cruiser.

Anybody in charleston, SC want to take a crack at fixing my cruiser? Two mechanics have failed to deliever a solution or fix my problems

so you only switched out the third?

have you looked at your axle bearings?

I put in a entire new rear end. I will look into the wheel bearings. Any other ideals?

Can you reccommend someone to repair it in this area

u joints.

bring it here ill fix it for ya. im just a lil bit of a drive tho.

You may have lost the centering pin in your T-case and it is whats really making the noise. The gears. The tab is on the back of the T-case and has a round washer with a flat spot on it holding the shaft in place. It is held on with a bolt and they have been known to come loose.

I have a similar experience with less noise. Call it a rumble and not a roar. Over 65 there is a rumble and slight vibration and it seems to be coming from the rear.

The guess I have on mine is either pinon bearing, ujoints, or whooping drive shaft. Could also be output shaft bearing on the transfer case (please, not that!).

Will start by eliminating the shaft, then joints, then pinon before even thinking about the t-case
