As discussed at last months meeting I will be traveling to Denver and attend the Rising Sun monthly meeting.

Anyone interested is welcome to ride along.

A proposed time and meeting location was leaving at 6:00 PM from the McDonalds parking lot near Chapel Hills Mall. That should give us adequate time to get there.

Trevor indicated that he would be interested in attending.

Please let me know if you are also interested.

I haven't been to a club meeting in 6 months or so (busy life). And I'm out of town this week, too. :(

If y'all are going up next month, too, I'd be happy to drive/cruiser-pool. :)

I need to go up a little earlier to stop by Home Grown and talk with TJ and Ben.

So i may be driving up early with my buddy Nick, You interested in going early Mark?

Id need to leave the springs at like 4:30..

Is anyone else panning on going up? this is a great chance to meet a bunch of Cruiserheads and check out way RS does stuff.

don't forget there's a pre meeting at on the border, immediately preceding the rising sun meeting. that's where we discuss what we're going to discuss.

then, there's the post meeting at hopps, where we discuss what we discussed at the meeting :D

steve helmrich has a power steering pump for me...is there any chance one of you guys could bring it up with you?

So where is this on the border place?

Isotel, Man Jerk and I attended the meeting of the Rising Sun club. The natives were very friendly and tried to throw us off of our mission of discovering the secrets of running a large club. We saw right through their sneaky tactics of course. We were put under pressure and finally revealed confidential information concerning our names, type of rig that we drive and how many members were associated with our own club. They did ply us with gifts to ease our determination of not revealing our own secrets. In my case I received a piece of paper that was thinly disguised as a door prize ticket. Just as we suspected the drawing was rigged and none of our contingent received any of the prizes of tire gauges, stickers, off road trail books and other swag. The serious business of the meeting was repeatedly sidetracked by members selling embroidered jackets, talk of trail closures, calls of desperation to get people to attend First Aid classes and committee reports of cruise Moab. Finally the main secret was revealed. We gained access to the amount of money that has been shamelessly hoarded after the members have been subjected to wallet squeezing. A select group of members escorted our contingent across the street where we were subject to even more interrogation. Once again their plot was revealed, the evidence was the lack of food available at the table. In the future your fearless leaders will subject themselves to this abusive treatment again. Your help in furthering our mission will be greatly appreciated.

Seriously: Thank you Mark and Trevor for attending. Thank you Rising Sun members for your openness and hospitality.

Thanks for the Hospitality guys!

The Main things that i saw the RS guys doing that i think we could benefit from,

Spreading out the load of the Tasks of running the club -
Door Prises and Pre Meeting Dinner / After Meeting Drinks (an exciting reason to Be at the meeting)
Leadership that kept the tasks well organized and discussion short and to the point.
Paypal Account for Memberships (Auto Renewing) and other Treasures tasks (This account earns Money)

another idea i had was i think we should extend the Term limits on our Board. if we have someone good at their job, and they like it, why limit them, Especially seeing as how little involvement we have. (Each Year they would still need to be re-elected)

We also will be having some sort of a Booth at the Rally This year.. along with helping promote the event down here in colorado springs

Thanks for coming up guys. We look forward to doing some runs with you and working together with you and Horsetooth to make the Rally a Colorado event.

Our secret. Make sure we have fun, because otherwise you might as well be at work. :D
