I've searched for a while and find all kind of threads on painting the exterior and flares and everything else I'm not looking for. Does anyone have some links to folks pulling out the carpet and lining the inside of thier 80's. Do it yourself or let them do it. Afraid if they spray it there will be over spray where I don't want it with closed quarters. Thanks in advance.
I just used Herculiner on my roof rack, wow this stuff works great, and couple gallons and you should be good, another option would be the duplicolor bedliner, its real cheap, it doesnt have great reviews on holding up, but if it is going to be under the carpet i think it would be plenty
Thanks guys was considering the DIY Durabak in the grey to match the interior, I wanted to just do away with the carpet. It has those molded husky floor mats I would probably put back on top. Hoping to see others that had tried it.
Correct. It's wearing really good after about 1.5 years. But I am going to go back in this spring and "freshen" things up a bit inside. It needs at least 3-5 thick layers. That was my mistake the first time around.

I did mine about 3 years ago with Rhino linning. I selected Rhino for the interior because of its texture. I have Line X in my Cummins and love it in the bed of the truck but using it on an interior, I felt, would just be asking to draw blood when you go looking under the seats for something or digging around the gear in the back.
I will try and take some photos to explain the way I acomplished it. But here goes a written description. I cannot speak for Linex but with Rino I was able to bridge the gaps along the door sills. In most of the photos of the rigs so far they covered the floor area but did not create as much of a liner as I wanted. I have drain holes that are open yet I also have all the wiring harness covered to the door sills. One layer was sprayed under to protect then another layer was sprayed over masking tape to create a flap that goes under the door sill plate but this allows very easy cleaing and wiping out of the interior.
I also used a flexible tube from the rear of the truck to the front to pass wiring throught and placed this under the Rhino. If need to remove or add wiring I can do this in the tube since the door sill area is no longer available after you line it.
My 8o is grey on the interior, I selected grey Rhino as the main color. I then had them speckle black on the top layer. This provided a very "natural" looking liner that matches the interior colors very well and looks "almost" that it was ment to be there.I will try and post some photos.

Yes she would. We made a deal: she gets all of my money, tells me what to do, what to wear, and who my friends are. In exchange, I get to decide what kind of interior part of my own car will have.

It was all in the prep... and it took forever. Mine was spray Linex, lots of mask and wrapped the whole rig, all the bolts were removed from the floor and plugged. Also all interior panels were removed and the walls were shot up about a foot. Once shot all the plugs removed and bolts and brackets put back in place.
