NOT AN OFFICIALLY ENDORSED TRIP, JUST A GROUP OF FRIENDS, JOIN AT YOUR OWN RISK AND LIABILITY

As I already posted in the Sand dunes thread, im gonna camp out near Whitehall on Friday night, Run the ringing rocks trail Saturday. Fun day trip if you want to just attend Saturday. You can easily be home by dinner time.

Since all the RONA still got the world actin CRAY CRAY, I've decided to push back the Sand Dunes trip until the whole state boarder crossing deal is let of a grey area.

FRIDAY MEETING LOCATION:
WHITEHALL GAS STATION @ 7 PM

SATURDAY MEETING LOCATION:
WHITEHALL GAS STATION @ 10AM

Friday Crew will meet Saturday Crew at this junction: 46.07204, -112.15215

start of the trailhead 46.06753, -112.10652

We will be on Ham channel 146.460

If there’s enough interest I would suggest a convoy rally point of nine at Belgrade Albertsons.
Easy short trail. Should be back in time for dinner.

Information about the trail on my blog below
Easy Trail. Only concern is the water crossing. It can be deep but most stock vehicles will do just fine. ill volunteer to go first with dorkle

Anyone who is interested to attend is welcome. This is not an official club run but all the same rules apply. Please let me know if you plan to show up or if your plans change.

Right on. I'll meet up with the group in Whitehall Friday night. I'm bringing grom #1. Will plan to drive back to Whitehall Sat morning to meet Mrs 90wt and grom #2, so they can join up on the ride. It's a little cold still to capture they're interest in camping. But they've never been to Ringing Rocks, so they're pretty excited.
Thanks for organizing this A.A.Ron.

Have fun all, see you all on the next one!

Looking at coming Friday. Haven’t been up there this time of year with spring runoff to see much water. How deep have y’all seen it? Gonna bring the mini.

I've been up there in early June before. I would think your prob fine. the direction we hit it doesn't make it splash as high as going back the other way. Last year the snow pack was high and we hit it after a couple of pretty warm days and it wasn't bad at all. I have only seen it get above headlights maybe once.

another picture to gauge the depth

If anybody wants to do a slow convoy Friday I’ll be taking the mini on its first voyage out of town. It actually came with a dash mount CB radio but the antenna that was mounted to the fender is gone. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get one before then and get it installed but I will have my handheld radios.

I will be leaving from Bozeman to meet up Saturday morning if anyone wants to meet up in town?

I am curious about the area that you will be camping in. It looks like there is a good system of roads and trails to explore there. Are the national forest roads? Do you think they are clear from snow this time of year? I have been looking to find a area to get out on motorcycles that isn't snowed in right now.

Tempted to come on up for this ride. I will have to see if I can convince the wife.

its all forest service. I've been up there in early may last year and didn't see any snow. There's quite the network of trails back there. Lots of neat spots. The spot were headed to is just one i know of we stayed at last year is flat, has a fire pit and can accommodate several vehicles.

I camped out on the pipestone side and it was already dry. I dont see snow being as much as an issue

I will be leaving from bozeman and taking the slow, scenic, non highway route haha. Probably leaving just before 8:30am and meeting up with another guy in Manhattan

Darren if you have the stud/cable you can grab one of mine... I only screw them on when on the trail. You are welcome to the firestick antenna or my handheld HAM.

There’s a cable there with 2 wires. I’m wondering if the cable just needs an end??? The fender mount is gone too.

So I am going to be a in the area but going to kind of bail on the ride at the same time. Maybe I can still meet up and drink a beer. My wife and i are making a slow role out there friday but we are bringing a small trailer with our dirt bikes. We really want to ride the area. I just dont see that i can do the trail to ringing rock with the trailer and I dont want to leave it behind in the woods. I need a off road capable bike trailer!

So our plan is to find a good place to camp. Maybe on the pipestone area or up where you guys will be. Then ride and explore. We will be camping friday night and maybe sat night. Maybe I will see you guys. I will be in a green 80 with white roof. If we end up camping near you guys I will come drink a beer with you.

I’ll be on the ham if your into that. I don’t know where I’ll end up on Saturday night. Somewherebetween Whitehall and Boulder. You wouldn’t be the first person to pull a trailer on the trail.

And everyone on the Saturday crew don’t forget to pack a lunch!

Looks like I will be able to make it on Saturday. What time are you guys planning to meet up in Manhattan?
