Couple questions before committing. Is the price posted F/R or per axle? Are the 80 series brifs/ axles comparable to what RCV/ Longfield are offering? Same? I'm looking at 5.29's for an 80 w/ elockers F/R with masters, solid spacers, knuckle kit and possibly the axle/ birf combo.

Asked the same question about the Nitro birfs after looking all over for anyone that was using them. Problem is that they are too new (I guess) and not that many folks are using them. I was told, as per Carl, that they are as strong as Longs and made in the same manufacturing location. I also looked into this but could not come up with any info on the subject. Pricing is good on the shafts provided they are what they claim to be. I was also told that the only difference between Bobby's and Nitro are where the shaft and birf connect. The Nitros are a large 24 slpine at that connection point. Again if they are what they claim them to be....why not run them. For me, I need a bit more solid info...sorry Carl but hey...I am getting full gear sets from you. Thanks again.

Got a similar response as well. I'm thinking that I will give them a try. In my case this is my lighter duty rig and my stockers with 285k on them are clicking in low range.

From Bobby Long... if they are not RCV, they are EMPI. I'll be getting a set ;)

Did we make 25???

I am not sure, but I just got a payment request from Carl for my order, so I am guessing that we made the magic number?!?! Can somebody confirm this....

If so, then all you guys wondering if the deal is on, it apparently is, so get those orders in, just a few more days to go....

He thought we were there with my order, and said he had a couple more emails to go through

Tim,
FWIW, Ken (Zuk) has given the G2's his blessing, along with the Nitro's. I've have both in my 80 after the front Nitro's broke. Toyota gear install

Speaking of Ken, since the weather is getting cooler here in Phoenix, he'll start working on gears again. Perhaps we can throw him into the mix as far as an installation group buy/discount.

I sent Zuk an email yesterday to see about doing my install around February 2011 (after hunting season) and this was his response...

Hi Justin-
I've just had a change of plans and will not be doing installs for an unknown amount of time. I updated my webpage with this and sorry I can't help. ZUK

This may not be the thread for this, but I was looking forward to having him install my gears and lockers... Is there anyone else that takes 3rds in, that is as reliable, and of course does good work?

I just ordered:

Front & Rear, Ring & Pinions and both master kits, gear ratio 5.29
Knuckle kit
Wheel bearing & seal kit for both sides

I'm thinking about Solid spacers.
Can someone please explain why thay are used and why (if) they are better?

I have had a problem with pinion pre-load loosening after hard use. I can only imagine that it has to do with the crush sleeve loosening a bit. I have not had the problem since going to solid spacers. With the spacer, you then use shims to set the pinion pre-load.

Carl told me they do the solid spacers on every diff they sell and that they last longer than crush sleeves.

Crush sleeves are meant to be used once, obviously because you crush them at a certain preload. With spacers they are set at a specific distance and you can reuse them if you ever replace your seals.....I'm thinking.

This offer has even smoked me out (from Australia !!!) I have asked for the lowdown on shipping a set of 4.56's to Aussie, if it doesn't add too much, whilst our Pacific Peso is trading at a good level IT'S TIME TO BUY !!!

Sure hope shipping doesn't kill my enthusiasm...

Thanks for organizing it bugsnbikes, I've been sitting on doing this forever and this was just the push to get me to spring for it.

Same here until last night, I had no intention of re-gearing.. or moving on with my build anytime soon.
