My gears are howl while accelerating over a certain speed range, but not all speeds, it's likely that the gears are worn due to lubrication failure or overloading. What is the best gear ratio to go with. I have a stock setup (4.10 ratio) right now & I do no off roading @ all. Rig is a 93 Landcruiser. Also can some ref me to a honest shop in the dallas fort worth area.

Stock = 4.11

Are you sure it's the R&P and not the D-shaft?

PM Texican. THere's a few mofos from LSLC around here that can get you pointed in the right direction too.

Well if you are all stock which is to say with tire size as well then stock would probably be the best choice. I have a set of used OEM gears from my truck that I'd be willing to part with if you decide you want the stock gearing still.

I had the D-shaft check & it seems to be ok. The reason why I believe it the R&P is because I let the Diff fluid before I had the birfield job done @ one point.

Also I don't have stocked tires, I have a 275-55-20 on my rig. So what will be the best gear set for this size tire.

20s? That might be too much bling for the stock gears to handle...
:rolleyes:

My compliments..:D

You are a brave fellow to admit to the board that you have 20 inch wheels. If they sported Mil-Spec tires it would be better.....;)

275x.55=151.25x2=302.5/25.4=11.90+20=31.90 inches, or just a touch under 3/4 of an inch taller than stock. You should be fine with stock 4.10 gearsets.

How many miles on the clock?

Um, PS, Do you still have the stock wheels taking up space in the garage?

I plan to keep them dan in case something happen to the other wheels. Also land how much for the OEM gears.

On second thought, maybe you shouldn't contact those LSLC mofos. :D

Monte,
I've sent you a PM with the price that I'd like. Someone else has also contacted me about the gear sets and is prepared to buy mine. I told him that I'd give you first refusal since I did offer them to you in this thread. Please respond to my PM either way as I don't want to hold up this other person. If I don't hear from you then I'll assume you are not interested.
