Just a heads up for those running wider platforms. The QMPS-10 spacers are only needed if you run the 49" wide version of the Pioneer platform. Anything wider than that width will not require them, just the QMHD05 spacers. The QMHD spacers come in 5mm increments (QMHD05, QMHD10, QMHD15....) and you can use those to gain extra height when running the RCL legs.

Bringing this thread back with a question. Is anyone using a Yakima box with their Vortex crossbars? It looks like the new boxes have adjustable feet that might have enough room to move.

Got around to installing my Rhino Rack setup. RLCP02 legs with 59 inch Vortex bars. I meant to take more pictures of the install but it was done after work in the dark while using my phone for light. Waiting on a couple brackets for my awning and lights to get here from Australia. Haven't seen anyone running this setup so thought I would post up some pictures.

Great Rig. Do you recall is your RR mountig legs were The RCH or the RCL.?? The RCL are really low profile and specs arent lining up with the measurement in your pic. Based on height between your roof and crossbar it seems like they might the RCH versions.?? Trying to decide which to run myself.

Those look like RCH to me.

At the time it was the RLCP02 but looks like they now refer to it as the RCH.

Rhino Rack Vortex bars - how fast can you put them up / take them down?

Right now I have a naked roof (no factory rails), so I'm looking at a couple of options:

• OEM style roof rails from Aliexpress + something like a couple of Thule cross bars.
• A pair of Rhino Rack Vortex bars that attach straight to the roof channel bolts.

The reason I'd want them off most of the time is because of fuel economy. I did some researching and I couldn't believe that those things can increase consumption by like up to10%. Also noise increase is another consideration, though not major.

A couple of alternatives to the rhino vortex bars are available so figured I’d mention it.

I ended up going with Gamiviti feet and FrontRunner bars. I recently picked up a Thule Motion 3 XL box for our Sienna and it should fit with the 3 bars perfectly based on measurements and the clamps seem wide enough to grab onto the FrontRunner load bars (if not there are kits to mount with the T slot).

There is also Eezi-Awn which has the added benefit of adding a mounting rail to the roof so you can adjust the bar positions. @RockDriver I think this would also best meet your need best for fast on and off.

Thanks, I have considered something like that, but Gamiviti doesn't have presence in Europe and by the time I got the delivery to my door with all the charges and taxes it would set me back by at least 400 USD and that's just for the towers alone.

Basically I'm looking for something on a budget and something that is relatively fast and easy to put up / take down. I have an option for a local custom made stainless steel rack for 400 euro and the only reason I didn't go for it yet is because it's not easy to put up / take down.
