Got around to installing my Rhino Rack setup. RLCP02 legs with 59 inch Vortex bars. I meant to take more pictures of the install but it was done after work in the dark while using my phone for light. Waiting on a couple brackets for my awning and lights to get here from Australia. Haven't seen anyone running this setup so thought I would post up some pictures.

Like it, good alternative to my peeling OEM rack. I like the look of 3 crossbars but wondering what the practical advantage may be?

I am hoping to get a roof top tent in the future so I figured having more crossbars would help to distribute the weight. Also, the rhino rack kit that they sell is made for the 100 series and it comes with 6 legs. The stock LX470 rack only had 4 legs but the mounting points were there, you just have to remove rubber and metal flashing. They recommended 54 inch bars but I mainly use my rack for canoe transport and know how quickly 1 canoe can eat up space on the roof so I opted for the 59.

So this one's bolt directly the the 6 rivnuts on the roof (3 pairs of 2 on each side)..?

I love Etrailer...

They are the repository for every funky rack part ever..

Aero bars equals a little less noise, Ricky likes.

If you aren't in hurry, sales often pop up around major holidays. I got 20% off & free shipping in May on rhino vortex bars- (realtruck.com)

I have mine attached to the factory rails and haven't noticed any increased wind noise from these bars.

The Rhino still does not address the "Bow" on the roof of the land cruisers, each of the mount requires are very precise height so the platform can be absolutely flat, even loads are very important in such a big platform.

At the moment I'm testing a very adjustable, modular, reconfigurable system and I will share it if ened up going somewhere useful.

I'm thinking about picking up the setup that you have. I have a couple of specific needs relating to rack height and bar spacing. If you get a chance, could I bother you to measure the height off of the roof to the top of the rear crossbar, and the distance (center-to-center) between the front and middle crossbars? I need 32"-34" between the bars.

Thanks in advance!

Good looking rig, sir

Are you sure about that? The mounts for the Rhino Vortex rack are front/middle/rear specific and DOES take the curvature of the 100 series roof into account. With a James Baroud fiberglass RTT it sits on the bars flat and even.

Miss spoken, sorry informed I guess..

I'm was trying to make a point how important is for the towers to be totally flat, if not things like the bottom of your fiberglass tent are going to fatigue and suffer..
