GOLD Star
I can't speak for the Yakima tent but I can tell you about mounting my Tepui. The tent doesn't actually touch the platform at all. Tepui use a rail mounted to the bottom of the tent. These rails house bolts which can slide through the length of the rail. Two bolts per mounting location which straddle the cross bars I highlighted in the picture below. The Tepui rails are the perfect width to fit between the Pioneer slats which run front to back.
One note, I did have to reposition the Tepui rails on the tent itself so the distance between the rails matched the distance between the RR slats. Looking at pictures of the Yakima it seems that they too use a rail with mounting feet. You'll want to make sure that the rails are the correct width apart or can be repositioned. You will also want to make sure the mounting feet are narrow enough (I can check on my truck later today if it will help).
Or you can look at a Tepui, I really do speak highly of their quality and customer service.
