For various reasons, I'm taking a pass on the EMS Powered Exhaust for the 80. So no need to ask "Why don't you just get the EMS Powered Exhaust?"

The only other full exhaust setup I'm aware of is the one that Bullet Cars (Australia) makes: http://www.bulletcars.com/parts/engine-parts/bullet-ultimate-exhaust.html#bulletult1fzfe. It's SUPER high quality, and the price is very reasonable ($1695 Australian, which is about $1580 USD). That's for the FULL exhaust, headers to catback.

Obviously the RHD configuration of the headers makes the headers incompatible with a US LHD 80 application. And they don't offer a LHD version of the headers. They ARE, however, willing to sell the exhaust system minus the headers, which is still a good/worthwhile upgrade (and cheaper!). And on a force induced application, the header isn't gonna be the end all/be all anyway. (By all means, if you know of a good header alternative, plz do share!)

Here's my question. Anyone know if the exhaust route/configuration is the same on LHD as RHD past the headers? Or would it still likely not be interchangeable?

Thanks!

So now I REALLY need to find a good option, cuz this is what I had to deal with yesterday lol.

I also came across this today: http://extremelandcruiser.com/store...id=863&zenid=5676b3ba657e221ee9cc8742d05001ae. Again, it's RHD (from Australia), but guzzla said here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/headers-exhaust-system-fzj-80.365741/reply?quote=5999906 that he was able to get the Pacemaker headers fitted to his 80 (which I'm assuming is a US LHD 80).

Given I'm looking to go supercharged, I don't wanna "just make it work" with a patch job for now, only to have to go back into it again later. I rather get a good quality full exhaust, headers to catback, from the getgo. Do it once, do it right.

TIA!

I'n not sure there would be any differences in the LHD vs RHD exhaust systems...? The engines are the same, the frames are the same, and the exhaust still routes in the same location. Why is it you don't think the entire Bullet system will fit? Did they tell you it won't fit? It doesn't look like there is a cat option, nor do I see provisions for O2 sensors, so maybe that is the difference? What would it cost to have a system shipped over here from Aus?

They're concerned there may be some minor layout differences in RHD vs LHD (steering column position etc) that affect the exhaust route. Of course, we don't have one of their trucks, and they don't have one of ours to verify. For the same reason, if you purchase the exhaust without the headers, they can't guarantee fitment, cuz they dunno if the exhaust route changes in USDM LHD vehicles either.

I don't recall the quoted price for shipping, but it was very reasonable from my recollection.

As for the cat/O2 sensors, I'd be ditching that stuff anyway, and using a resistor and EGR blockoff plates, so I'm not worried about that.

Why not just pick a muffler and cat out, and have a local shop make you a custom system? You'll pay through the nose for an Australian pre-made system once shipping is included.

It's not the manifold itself. You have the manifold, and it collects into two pipes. So right where the two pipes join (downstream) and merge into one pipe, it rusted through and broke (see pic above). And again, its rusted to the point where I was only able to temporarily get rid of the entire section pictured above (I'm guessing precat, cat, and muffler) and weld a straight pipe (still has an exhaust leak) for now.

Truck itself is in excellent condition believe it or not; no undercarriage rust, minus the exhaust, that's seen better days, to say the least.
