if the top 5 of Canada's worst drivers can drive in a standard shift RHD landy around a course and succeed this blows the idea that RHD is too difficult for the average Canadian out of the water. especially since most had never driven a standard before and now stuck on the right hand side...
well in my mind it does...

I had become a drive-through coffee junkie but its quite the reach with the cruiser. Now I atually park the truck, go inside, sit down and take a time out. Pro's vs. Con's seem 10:1 overall.

Another good reason for choosing a smaller SUV :). I checked, and I can full-palm the LH window on the Pajero model I'm bringing over (I ditched the broker, Wayne. Thanks for the advice. Got a Japan-side bro-deal in the works).
RHD is not hard, but I'm a little biased. I got my introduction touring the UK in a little 5spd Festiva rental car. I actually prefer shifting with my left hand. Steering should be on the "strong" hand anyway if you have to one-hand it while you're shifting IMHO.

I haven't tried to do the drive-through solo with the Cruiser yet, but manage the ferry tollboth and border checkpoints OK reaching across the passenger seat.

Yup, but I still don't have that drinking hot coffee with the left hand thing mastered yet.

Well, if the Tim Hortons where you are, are anything like the Tim Hortons where I am, its faster to go in and order then wait in the drive thru line up anyways;p

On my RHD fj45, I can still reach across. It used to be lots of fun when my old dog was still around. The funniest time being when I went thru a police roadblock, and without missing a beat, the officer asks 'has the dog been drinking?'. :)

Yeh, I reach across the passenger seat to get my coffee at Tim's every morning, even manage to order through the passenger window as well.
When there's a nice girl in the window I just don't reach as far..Try it you'll like it..(I know I'm just a dirty old man)

With the suzukiy every van - it is so narrow that accessing the left window is just as easy as the right. It's kind of like driving a 4 wheeler atv.

I don't think that's the issue. We all know it isn't hard, just some of us are stubborn, that's all:flipoff2:
Cheers,

now that Iave been rhd for awhile I prefer it ,
I walk in for drivethrew,
I like the view I have for merging onto highways....no more blindspots .
and for the left turn , its only a problem when theres a big truck blocking the view.....so yah just wait ....no biggie

Drive throughs are no problem. Just roll down the p/s window and reach across. Never had any trouble doing that. I can imagine it might be a bit tougher if you're somewhat vertically challenged.
