I am wondering how many UC members are restoring rigs. I am not really into wheeling, but really enjoy bringing LC's back from the brink. Would anyone be interested in getting a resto arm started? Maybe meet once in awhile to do something similar to HAMOM for resto tasks?

I believe HARD40 and Jere P. would be the talent to tap.....

X2 Allans trail rig looks better than alot of "restorations" I have seen, then there is Jerry

I think there is a wealth of knowledge in the club as far as restoration specialist. Maybe try to come up with a tech day. Where someone has something important going on as far as a restoration that may need help or that others could learn from.

I'd love to learn more paint and body work.

x2 I have this dream of someday taking a classic station wagon and putting a moderng efficient drivetrain in it for the wife to drive around. Paint and body are the only parts I'm missing. Would love to learn from some more experienced people!

this is much better response than I anticipated. Lets get this rolling at the annual meeting.

I've got a lot of good FJ40 resto parts I need to sale if the UC would be interested in buying them for future projects. Located in Roxboro, NC.

Interested? Oh, heck yes. As Marshall said, body work knowledge is severly lacking on m,y part.

I'm in. Some of the most fun I've had in this club was working on Alex's restoration. Don't like banging stuff up on the trail, but do like restoring!

Think of the possibilities- A club paintbooth? Just kidding but you never know. Knowing how much I paid for paint it would be an investment that would pay for itself- especially as I am finding more and more chips from road debris.:bang:

Wait don't you have to bang it up first before you can restore it David? Otherwise it would be good to go....right?

Ah, grasshopper, I buy what others have neglected or thoroughly used, clean them up, and then drive them to the trail head and park ... Was tempted by that 71 piggie yesterday, real potential there.
