Update. Turns out this was low battery due to keeping the ignition in acc mode while I fiddled with and replaced the driver side mirror.

After jumping with the trust NOCO I’m back in business. Everything working. No whirring. Thanks @OregonLC

###

Changed the driver mirror.

Went to start the car. No start
Faint check engine light
Something whirring under the hood driver side
Disconnect battery,
When I reconnect, whirring is back and no start
Arm/disarm alarm etc don’t work either

The only things I disconnected were in the door:
- the window switched
- the mirror bundle

Any ideas?

Update.

Sounds like whirring is coming from near brake fluid reservoir

Sounds like a low battery. Was the ignition perhaps left on during the work you performed? The 'whirring' on DS could be just the brake booster running, typical upon startup. What does the dash voltmeter show? Do you have a voltage tester to check at the battery? Do you have a jump pack to get it going?

Doubtful that anything you would have plugged/unplugged would result in a no-start. That the CEL is faint sound a lot like low battery voltage.

I disconnected the mirror and window module.
Whirring continued (I suspect you are correct. About the brake booster.

I just hooked up a jump pack and car started.
Dash volt reading is just under 14v

I did have the ignition/power to the windows on while I replaced the mirror.

I’m back up running gonna put the bits back together

Thanks!

Glad you got it sorted out.

There's not a huge draw with the ignition on but it can be enough to kill a marginal battery. This is probably your early warning that it's time to replace. I like the Toyota TrueStart batts, but there are other good lead acid choices out there as well.
