You think there’s a big enough difference ??
I know it’s a pain in the A** job and not worth doing it twice.
The first ones lasted over 25 years because there quality😎

By all means, do it. Let us know how long they last.

Any thoughts on fuel smell after changing these out? I checked charcoal canister, good there... Haven't checked fuel filter. I see no leaks and after driving it for a bit restart is a bit slow. Almost like too much fuel or not enough like badly tuned carburetor vehicle.

Just gotta keep pocking around but open to any suggestions. I followed all the disconnections in OPs write up.

View attachment 3761374Can’t believe what an improvement in drivability this has made. Rough starts went away, clunking at stops are gone, No more rocking and hard bouncing, smoother idle. On to the engine mounts.

I replaced my front engine mounts on my 97 1FZ a few years ago, but did not do the rear mount. I can see quite a bit of lateral movement in my transfer case shifter when I take off from a stop and when I accelerate. I’m also getting the sense from driver seat that it needs replacing. Can the rear mount be changed without loosening up all the stuff that has to be loosened to do the front mounts? In other words, can I just support transmission around the bell housing and swap out the rear insulator?

Yep it’s the easiest one to replace.
I would jack it up at the transfer case.
