Im interested in buying the front DS, PS floor panels, especially if they include the body mount brackets :)

Lee

It includes whatever is attached to those panels. Let me know if you want to pull the trigger on these.

Is it for sale?

Is it yours?

Why crush it?

It is mine, I have pulled most of the parts off I needed for my build. Crush it bc it is a piece of rusty junk taking up space. I think Trolehole is going to cut the floor boards out of it.

finally some new floorboards!

:wrench:OK....how long have we been beating this floorboard topic and still have not seen ONE!.........great news:bounce::bounce2:; just got my floorboards fabbed here in the USA!!!; same guy that made Old Chubs driver floorboard........am very very happy; don't have pix as my camera is dead BUT am showing Old Chubs drivers side floorboard patch.....his floorboards were a LOT worse than the pix show after using the wire brush!..........fellow is a pro metal fabber named Chip Parsons and does english wheel and bead work...the deal is; give him a call cut out and ship him the section you need; he can give you a quote and you can take it from there with him......he will fab up the section you need + a bit of overlap for the "Oh Sh.." just in case situation.........here is his contact info

Lou, looks good! Sometimes that's all that is needed. On the first '55 we started with that would not have been sufficient because the area covered by the patch was gone and the surrounding area was thin and perforated. How were the body mounts underneath the floor boards? Those are usually pretty rusty as well. Was/is the surrounding metal solid?

:wrench:OK....how long have we been beating this floorboard topic and still have not seen ONE!

You haven't seen one because everyone that wanted one didn't want it bad enough to pony up the cash! The floorboards we are proposing are the entire piece from the door pinch weld to the tranny hump and from the top of the slope under the pedals to back under the seat somewhere and include the front body mount as well. Once someone hands over cash the floor boards will be made.

Mr. Parsons rebuilt the mount and rewelded in the seat mounts + a lot of other work for Old Chub; yes, he cut back to solid stuff........when John took of the floor covering layer and we hit it with a grinder and a heavy duty wire brush it was amazing how many holes and rust was there ......not only front floor pan BUT front of the rear seat; John "Old Chub" might have pix of the rear floor section..........Mr. Parsons he can build anything needed but wants to have the individual floor section as a pattern 'cause of the variations we have all run into.........Mr.Parsons did take pix of mine as a before and after but I don't have any copies; when I get them will be happy to share; most of the pig floors that I have seen that are rusted badly don't need the entire floor; just a larger or smaller patch........BUT everyones situation is different so best is to give him a call/e-mail and take it from there; personally am very happy with mine and best thing is that it is local/USA.......gosh, I remember the dissapointment when Eric Ellis's floorboards were impounded at Pakistan customs:crybaby:when he tried to get them to Ehsan as a pattern + all the people that I had contacted here in the US that did not want to"fool with it":frown:.........so all in all am very very happy:bounce: and maybe this might help:steer::wrench: other pigs from being parted as many have died/parted out from the floorboard rust that till now seemed to be an unsolvable problem unless flat plate was welded in! HTH

Charles;:hhmm: several of us have been willing to "pony up" cash and Eric Ellis went so far as to send a set of very nice floorboards to Pakistan on his dime but we never got a firm quote from any source; :hhmm:check post # 2 on this thread.......Lomussas promised us floorboards for sale for Jan 06:confused::bang:.......Mr.Parsons did not promise; just took a look, told us "no problem" then delivered in less than 72 hours.....yippiiii:bounce: nice to deal with someone true to his word......guess am kinda old fashioned on that.....just my 0.02 HTH

Lou, I hear you!!

I posted up prices of Paul's floorboards here https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...loorboards-group-interest-13.html#post4858949 on the page before this one. No one has even called or contacted us about them. These ARE firm prices (but subject to change as time goes on of course).

I do have to say though, that we'd be hard pressed to get floor boards in someone's hands stateside in 72 hours.

We can make up ANY sheet metal needed.

floor board patches in the USA

:wrench: appreciate Cruiser Guys efforts and success......his pig has been an inspiration for me to not give up when early on I saw what a pile of rust I was dealing with.........and all of us have benefited from his remarkable results........seems many of us have been working on getting sheetmetal fabbed and till Cruiser Guy got Lomussas to finally move and we stumbled upon Mr.Parsons it had been a very painful and frustrating situation:bang:; many pigs have gone to the crusher cause of the problems of sourcing sheet metal:crybaby:OK as promised here are some pix of the work Mr. Parsons just completed on my 69 body transplanted onto a 79 frame........my DS was much much worse that I had expected after I removed the Toyota covering and the PS although not as rusted had a hole cut out where a PO had tried to stuff in a CSB......Mr Parsons contact info is posted above......give him a call, very knowledgeable and easy to talk to!

Pablo; used Mar-hyde self etching single stage primer at this point; have not used definitive coat yet; but the mar-hyde is holding up nicely and is an industrial type rust preventing primer......it is what Mr. Parsons had on hand and recommended...........he can make the patches but you would have to cut out the bad section and ship it to him so he can use it as a pattern to give an estimate as there was a lot of
variation through the years as we have learned; btw; the mar-hyde comes in a rattle can also.........HTH

OK, I'm at Paul's shop and here's the deal on the FJ55 floorboards. These will the the entire floor from the top of the slope at the drivers/passengers feet to the top of the step under the rear seat and from the pinch welds at the doors and are based on the '72 model year (the year of Paul's FJ55). Other years can be made once suitable examples of the floors are found. The floors will work very much like these https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-class...ctions-complete-floors-bumpers-tailgates.html for the FJ45LV.

$2000 FOB San Jose, Costa Rica.

We're talking about the price for rear quarters and front fenders as well and hopefully we'll have those in a few days.

If needed I can bring your truck down from Canada/USA if it is running for getting the floor, and whatever else, installed but of course that will cost extra though you'll save the crating/freight costs. It can also be shipped down in a container.

These are NOT waiting on a shelf for you to buy but are strictly made prepaid ONLY. Group buys will help on the shipping costs but as these are basically hand made there isn't much savings in making 20 at a time.

wow! If the 55 ones are as nice as the 45's, it's a smoking if still out of reach deal. Has anyone sprung for the floor yet and got it installed? I'll be saving for a while to get this, I just hope it isn't one of those "Buy NOW or forever lose your chance" deals.

I just hope it isn't one of those "Buy NOW or forever lose your chance" deals.

No, it's not a buy now or loose your chance forever but prices are subject to change with time or pricing of sheet metal.

Still-if it's half as nice as those 45 floorboards, its worth every penny. I think we all would wish that replacement floorboards would be as cheap as Beetle floorboards, but they didn't import a couple million 55's like they did beetles :frown:.
