This makes me think the condenser is done:

The second pic you posted:

It's a plastic cap that's removable. The desiccant bag is in there chilling. I would assume you pull the old and put the new in.

What if you tried changing the o-rings on that cap first? Or the cap itself, which looks like it's included in that kit you linked to. Last ditch before you put a condenser in it.

The Toyota condenser comes with the desiccant bag in it already. I replaced mine two months ago with a Mr T part. I personally would stick with Mr. T for this stuff.

Does the system hold vacuum?

I purchased a denso desiccant kit from rock auto and plan on replacing next time mine needs refrigerant.

Thanks y'all.

I replaced the o-rings on the hard line feeding the condenser, and then my guy put the system in a vacuum state for 50 minutes.

After that he added 2.5 lbs and showed Low side was at 34 psi and High side was at 240 psi.

That cap with the Allen fitting is plastic? So you are thinking that o-ring could be blown?

Last question for now, how does the desiccant kit work?
I am used to changing out the dryer.

The desiccant material, as @Rhetoric mentioned above, is self contained (it's a sock) for the 100 series (lessons learned from the 80s). I like this much better (ditto the sunroof seal).

You have to spin off the plastic screw plug from underneath the container. It's easy to spot, although not very clearly illustrated in the FSM; it's a white plastic plug in a black plastic tube. It's a square plug cavity, of a size I didn't readily have a square something or other to fill. I used a very large (-) screwdriver.

FWIW, I bought mine from Rock Auto. Seems to be working fine since early this summer.

Thank you!
To be clear, you bought a condenser from Rock Auto? Or desiccant kit? Or both?

I actually bought a new compressor; the desiccant kit was a bonus:

I did not use the plug from the kit, however. I reused the OEM and installed new O-rings.

I have a GPD Condenser from RockAuto. It was about $100 out the door. They're based out of Macon, GA. You can get OEM just under $300 out the door with the sale that's going on.

My 2 cents - I just had heater core replaced recently and had condenser done too since job is so labor intensive.

In hindsight I would have bought the whole heater box assembly because it includes the blend door motors which are difficult to find alone.

anytime you open up the A/C system you introduce moisture into the system, just from moisture in the air. the desiccant pack absorbs that moisture and keeps the system operating as effectively as possible.

Does the desiccant comes already installed in the OEM condenser?
Based on my research, everything inside that "box" is included with the OEM condenser. Price for OEM right now is $343.42 out the door. I would wait for a holiday sale if you want to go the OEM route. Or try GPD from RockAuto for $100 out the door, it also includes the desiccant, but not all the unnecessary brackets.

I did the Agility condenser from rock auto about three months ago and the end cap is leaking a bit. I also had to send back the first two they sent me for shipping damage. I need to file for a warranty claim on this last one, but the system is working fine and I’m dreading redo’ing the install. Next time it’ll be OEM.

I replaced the compressor and condenser with the UAC kit from Rock Auto about 50k miles ago. No issues.

I think you mean you replaced the evaporator (inside the plenum in the cab). The condenser sits in front of the radiator.
