Is this a nice upgrade to the stock FJ80 stereo? The satellite capability is nice. Would I need to buy an antenna to add to the head unit to use that funtionality or would I expect that to come with a head unit?
I am a FJ80 newbie and stereo dummy. Is it difficult to find aftermarket stereos to fit the stock location?
Thanks!

Since that pix was taken I have pulled the old Sat unit in the center console and added a plug and play Toyota sat unit I picked up from Cdan so I can use the touch screen on the Navi to work it![]()

I've been researching nav unit for a while and until I came across your writeup/post I was leaning towards an Eclispse unit. Now that I see the Toyota unit, I'm definitely going to go that route. My question for ya is did you need to purchase a JBL amp to use with it, or is that only for the 2006 model navigation. I think oemsales.com is only selling this year's model now. And did you have to run a hot wire to the antenna amplifier to get good radio reception? Some guys over on Yotatech did a similar install, but said they needed to power the antenna amp to get get any type of decent tuning.
