Very nice, and good screen size, and clean install. Can you download maps from your computer into the unit?

Looks good. I hope it has voice commands cuz looking down at the dash while driving could cause some probs.

Yes it does, plus you can tilt the screen up more for easier viewing

It uses the DVD that comes with the unit and updated map DVDs can be ordered from Toyota

By the way that system from '05 camry unit cover the whole U.S regions or just some state? Also comes with Voice intelligent system?

With it being DVD-based, I'm sure it covers at least the lower 48, if not Canada, too.

Todd now I know that you live in the sticks according to the screen shot of the Nav.

You can add the Voice mic and it will learn but I didnt get it but i did order the XM unit for it from Cdan to replace the one I have in the center console :bounce:

Yeah the deer and other criters are overrunning the place :D

The nav dvd in my Mom's 05 RX330 covers all of the lower 48 and "lower Canada" whatever that means, so I'm sure that one is similar, if not identicle.

Tech Tip: Just to be safe you might consider the voice activation system, you dont want keep lookin at the screen while you drive heh?
The unit wont let you change the Nav setup unless your stopped . It knows like big brother :D
I let the cruiser :princess: run it if needed

Koffer- there is usually a wire you need to ground or tie high to hack the "disabled while moving" "feature". Search the web for your specific system. My installer (for the Alpine I unit have) did this for me.

I there an external antenna for the unit? If so where and how did you mount it.

Thanks,

Steve 94

Looks Great!

Hey Todd,

Thanks for posting these photos up, install looks great. I've long been interested in how well this install would go, since the dash opening is a little small. Any insight on how difficult it was to make it fit cleanly?

P.S. -- OEMVALUE shows the Camary systems in stock again (currently, it changes overnight it seems).

The system hooks into the speedo and if I diable it I loose the "time to local" and some of the other things which I would rather have

Had to cut the sides of the dash opening but it wasnt bad at all just kept test fitting it as I went so I didnt end up with a hole that looked like I used a sawzall on it
