Thanks for the link -- just bought a pair for myself. Hopefully I can avoid hitting my head again before the struts arrive

Went there and the buy it now button is gone. I sent a PM to the seller. May y'all bought them all up!

I got in on it @ 1700 MT
Just finished the paypal thing - came to about $56 US shipped.

I've run into that thing to many damn times in the winter - works fine when it's warm.

Tom, thank you for posting this for us. I just ordered mine.

Haven't gotten mine yet.

Edit - got them on Tuesday 12/2

For those that purchased the Aussie struts off Ebay, do they provide additional clearance over the stock struts or whatever you had in your rig?

Wondering if I'll get a bit more head clearance under the raised hatch as some have mentioned on the thread.

No. They are identical to OEM in dimensions.

Same head clearance for me. Well the OEM ones I had only lift the hatch to have it level with the roofline and I had to push it up more to have the hatch sit at a slight angle above the roofline. Now with the ones from Aussie it pops open the hatch to a slight angle above the roofline without having to do anything.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, having the hatch slightly higher than roof line would help.

Glad I saw this thread. My struts have a little rust on them and do the 3/4 way up deal and stop. I manually have to push it up the rest of the way. After looking at prices for the autozone replacement struts this Aussie fix just made more sense. I'd definately go to Autozone if this ebay item wasn't available. OEM is ridiculous.

Wish I had known about the Aussie option before I paid CDan for the comparatively pricey version. I'll be watching ebay.co.au carefully in the future....

I got the bonnet and hatch struts at the Toy dealer in Yokohama....would have been a fair deal if the Canadian dollar wasnt in the tank!

Haven't gotten mine yet. Ordered them on the 18th. Spoke with the seller and they said I should be getting them any day.

Starting to get a little worried if other people received them quickly. I wonder how long it takes for them to go through customs?

I put mine on today - perfect fit. About 10-15 minutes, but it'd be easier with with somebody else to help holding it up - or a 2x4 :D

They are pretty powerful - takes some effort to close it, and you only have to open it 2" to 3" and the struts will do the rest!

Now to figure out why my outside handle isn't engaging to open the hatch :(

I could not resist...ordered mine today. Great exchange rate and mine came out to US$53.54. If you pay through PayPal you may want to check with your credit card company (if you have one linked to your PayPal account) to see who offers a better currency exchange program...PayPal's is a lot higher for instance than USAA's program, which I use. So, just something to check or at least consider.

Cheers.
