I'm in the process of bobbing my FJ60, '83. The fuel tank has to be relocated, but I noticed that the top of fuel lines cap is rusted and leaking, also the sending unit is rusted on top.
I managed to remove them but broke the lines, no rust in the inside of the tank. I'm also a little bit confused here since the Haynes manual positions the fuel pump inside the fuel tank, but mine is in the engine compartment and in the place of the fuel pump I have only a cap with two fuel lines that go in and out of the fuel tank.
The question is, since I have the option to put a fuel tank from any other car or truck, which options do I have? I want to keep it street legal and under $150, so used from a junk yard will better, assuming is free of rust.
