Interesting! I would think that the heat would have more to do with loosening things up and the wax acting more like a lube though.
 
Yeah actually he does a decent job of explaining it... basically from my understanding, the wax goes into a liquid form and is able to seep in-between the threads thus lubricating the threads. At the same time the heat opens the pours in the metal allowing the wax to seep into the pours and also lubricate things. Thus as soon as the initial friction is broken the bolt starts moving. When I had my broken EGR J-pipe stud on my manifold for my 60 I figured that if the PB blaster and visegrips didn't work then I would try this. Of course I never got to that point.
