One thing that I discovered today. After you aoply citrus strip, put a piece or two of saran wrap over it. That does much better.

Dried aircraft paint remover.

A wire brush cup wheel on an angle grinder spinning 11k rpm rips it of forthwith. Wear at least a dust mask and face shield as PPE.

The only issues I had with the wire wheel was the dust, and potential for scratching metal too much. The chemicals take longer, but wait till you see the results. 👍
 
So this is what it looks at 2nd layer of citristrip.

Once you remove the 2nd , it comes out bare metal. Beautiful. No scratches.

Interesting. How is the citristrip on the plastic, rubber, etc?
If you are careful, it has no impact. Rubber is fine plastic it will mess up a little bit.
