I have an Outback Accessories (Australian made - sold through Opposite Lock) TWC-80 twin carrier bar on my 80. I would like to take off the left side carrier arm since I don't use it normally and it just gets in the way of using the LH (small) barn door to access the back.

With the carrier removed, the stud on which it rotates will be left exposed. Is there anything that can protect the stud from corrosion once the carrier arm is taken off? I don't know if any sort of cover exists for it when it's not used. But worth asking.

I've used the left carrier arm to carry a wheel once in the 7 yrs I've had the rear bar fitted so not really necessary.

Would the center bearing cover for a trailer tire work. Many swingouts seem to take advantage of the standard sized part, which will snap right on and stay secure presuming it fits.

I have the older Kaymar bumper on mine and used the spindle caps from Slee. Being in the US, Kaymar had no interest in replying to my requests for their version, but you may have better luck since you are "local" to them. I did suggest this for another Kaymar owner, but he had the newer version, and apparently the Slee one did not work for him. That said, may be worth a shot for not too much $$. My version screws on to the threads that hold the bearing together and has a fat o-ring down low that seals to the lowest part of the spindle to keep it water/air tight (and hopefully corrosion free!).
