I’m sure I can figure it out. I’m just not seeing anything on the web that would help me. It is mated to a 3 speed.

I’m using it in another project and selling the vehicle it’s coming out of.

Is there any reason why you don't switch the transmission, transfer and OD to the other vehicle? Have you picked up a copy of the installation manual. It shows the special lock used to keep overdrive on the back of transmission tail shaft. You drive the center threw center into the piece in front of it. Those were made as a single use. When I acquired a large connection of parts there was part of an overdrive that this must have come loose. If when it was assembled a new one was used and not seated properly or a used one was used I do not know. Where I worked at the time I had access to a machine and managed to get it disassembled and salvaged most the parts.

It easier to remove the OD of you can kept the transmission shaft locked in place. Still mount to the engine could do that. Once the black cover is off use a 1/2" impact gun to remove the piece that used to lock the OD to the transmission tail shaft. There is a C clip inside the transfer that holds all the pieces that drive the transfer case that is tricky to get at. That is going off one I bought in the nineties I bought the OD that was attached to the transfer case and AA adapter for a GM 350. This was the first one I disassembled and had a hard time getting that C clip off..
