Following some of the advice on search, I went to Walmart and couldn't find any of the removers that had been mentioned, but they did have a little can of Citristrip Wipe Away. It was pertty expensive, and I remember talk of the citris stuff, so I figured that was it.

Well, I get home and (finally) read the label that says "Do not use on solvent-sensitive areas such as plastic, delicate fabrics, ..." so I decided to try it on an old cell phone, and an old TV remote, and no discoloration!

Tried one of the tricks learned here also by turning on the heater and letting it run for a while, after sitting in the sun all day, then peeling off the wood. Worked perfect, but I probably lost a gallon of sweat, cause as soon as the heat would leave the cab, it would stiffen up the adhesive. If only someone had taken a pic of me in the cab, doors shut, heater on in 100 degree heat! I looked like I climbed out of a pool!

Anyway, this Citristrip Wipe Away worked great on everything, until it came to the heater/AC buttons. They're obviously a different kind of plastic, because they started to melt. The black smeared into the white icons, and now they're all screwed up. But the truck looks a heck of a lot better!

Guess I'll be ordering some buttons from C-Dan pretty soon, or maybe I'll take the 4-hour drive to Albuquerque and pay this legend a visit!

Thanks for all the good writeups on the subject. Sorry no pics, I don't have a digital camera, but y'all know what the dash looks like anyway!
