Reman. Parts

My master cylinder went out this weekend. That made for a fun drive home! I went down to checker to exchange it. I bought the last one from there. Anyways, the one I got back was toyota. At least it has the teq stamped on the side. The one I took out did not.

How reliable would this part be. If I exchange other parts should I look for the toyota symbol or does it really not matter. Would this work for smog pumps/power steering pumps, etc. I ask because I am thinking about replacing my power steering pump soon.

That symbol is just cast into the body at the factory. It has no bearing on how well the reman was done or how long it will last. I have had good luck with reman brake masters on my FJ40 but I have heard that pumps (both P/S and AIR injection) are mostly junk from the reman sources. I would not worry about the brake master but I would plan on buying Toyota when you replace the pumps.
