The radio sucks ass to begin with and without the mast the reception was horrible. The powered antenna I had installed across the top of the windshield was no help what so ever.

Before I removed my factory RH fender I made a template, just in case I wanted to re install my antenna on the passenger side. So I taped up the drivers fender and took out the template and outlined the hole with a Sharpie and said a prayer. I found center on the lower circle and top and then drilled the holes using a step drill bit. Then took out the file and went at it.

Here's where I got really lucky and found out that Toyota thinks things out. If you look at the pic of the fender well with antenna installed you can see that the inner support was notched out for the shaft, if it wasn't I'd have a cool hole in my fender. Also the tab and hole into the cab was present, so no drilling or bracket to make.

I made the harness using 6 18ga wires and loom.

More later. I'm pooped.

Remove plug in fender, then root rest and side panel in the cab. Then I ran the cable through the hole and seated the grommet in place.

An OEM snorkel covers the hole on the other side

An OEM snorkel and fender that has no previsions for an antenna. ;-)

Shane's build is 23 pages long and counting. Start here at post 432.

Lol, it's a good picture book from the start. And I can't copy and paste URL's from my phone. ;-)

Looks like that forward snorkel bolt head could use some touch up paint. Very unlike you, Shane.

Would you believe that I'm waiting on factory hard ware. Good eye as I noticed earlier.

Something's stuck to the top of your snorkel!

JK looks great as usual other than the blatantly shabby hardware used!
