We are looking to up our 265/65R17 to 285/70R17 on our ‘07 GX470. We installed a two inch lift with control arms about eight months ago. Problem is... our front has sagged or relaxed almost to stock height and we have a two inch difference between front and back. So now the stock size tire doesnt fill the rear and looks stupid but the proposed size wont fit the front.

We’ll be contacting the manufacturer regrading the issue, but I need tires yesterday. Any idea what can be done in the meantime while we work the lift issue? I am on the fence with adding spacers.

What’s the lift?

If it’s adjustable it sounds like it settled and needs adjusted. If it’s not, maybe the springs are too low of a rate.

yeah, what are the details on the lift with brand and model numbers on the coils and shocks.

And did you measure hub to fender prior and post lift? And now?

this info would help people who can give you advise

Signature states it is the ironman 4x4 nitro stage 2, which is non adjustable. However it is a 2.5" lift. Do you have the heavy springs? You could move to the 2.5" heavy load if not. Seems like it may be something else though if it a large difference.

Yeah it is Ironman. We’re in contact with them. We definitely measured at time of install and now. The front has dropped. The rear is the same. This caused us to considering going KO2 because BFG has that in-between size of 275 that Toyo doesn’t have, but if we’re not mistaken, the KO2s are quite a bit heavier (though more durable) of a tire.

Lift helps so little with fitting more tire that I’d get to trimming or moving plastics. Also sounds like the wrong springs or something wrong with them.

@rommelrommel I understand what you mean. We expected to have to trim or heat gun some things to give a bit of clearance where needed. It might be we‘ll just stick with 265/70/17 until we can resolve the lift issue - and then consider swapping wheels for better offset later on.

As far as the lift. We may go with the constant load springs. We haven’t even upgraded our bumper from OEM yet. My husband and I are just worried it’s going to ride like a cement truck. I‘ll dig through the forum here and see if I can find someone’s experience with the same or similar.
