Not mine, but I might be interested in buying.
Anyone down there able to take a look?

Not the kind of retail listing that instills confidence, but looks ok and they claim its a California truck.

That's a few hours away for me, but I may can possibly get my brother in law from Nashville to go take a look at it. The pics given are the normal salesman pictures, but I will try to figure out a way to get us some more worthy pictures to post up on this one... and some info on these particular auto brokers!

I would be mighty grateful to any mudder or anyone mud related who took a look. I'll pay for the 3rd party inspection company to take a look if I have to, but I just don't trust them as much.

IMO For that money ask, the driver seat should not be ripped, and the tails/corner lamp lenses should be shiny new. Lenses are cheap enough when you've spent in the 5 figures for one of these, but that is my point. It's all about presentation. I'd definitely need to see underneath/chassis, underhood, more interior, etc. etc.

I agree. They don't have much in the way of maintenance records on it either and at that price I don't want to get it home and find 3k worth of leaks, brakes and carb rebuilding to do.

Air hose missing in engine compartment....radiator looks suspect...hubs seem to be weeping

There's actually a good shop down the road from there about a mile that I've used for the past 9 years. Not a toyota shop, or truck shop but reliable and honest. I'd ask specifically for Donnie.

Howdy! I live in Nashville and have been searching for a reliable/ honest mechanic (have one that I use that specializes in Toyota/Lexus but they are getting overpriced and less reliable). More importantly, I am looking for a good body shop that will be honest and help me evaluate some rust remediation on an old Cruiser I own. Unlike many Mudders, I am NOT knowledgeable enough to assess the extent of rust problems by myself, nor am I able to determine what a reasonable price would be for the work. Recommendations welcome from anybody who knows Nashville!

There's a clubhouse section of the site. You might want to try there to check in with the locals and see what they recommend.

So I am 1.5hrs north of Nashvegas and I might can check it out for you. However having owned as many cruisers as I have, I wouldn’t touch it. That is a pig with lipstick. For that kind of money you should expect a lot more. That is a Nashvile hipster price on a truck that has too many red flags.

I've lost interest in this truck, but for the sake of education would love if you would expand on what you see as red flags.

So far we've come up with the torn seat, cloudy lenses, missing air hose, etc that is unexpected at this price point. I think the cap for the shifter would be like 20 bucks if they chose to replace it. I've spoken with the dealer and their only maintenance history is repairing the cooling system before sale (was steaming). It does have a California filled carfax though and does look rust free. Its just that at 19-20k rust free with good paint isn't enough. I expect all that little stuff to be in line and more information about how great its mechanical condition is.

Steaming ? Did they do the head gasket on it? Was the head cracked? Cheap dash pad cover. He wants you to see the oil pressure is high yet if you look he’s tacking 3000 rpm. What is the oil pressure at idle? There’s lots of little things. I might go check it out next time I’m in Nashville just to report back.
