Like the title says, 1982 Red BJ45 LHD Troopy for sale. It was recently a wildfire truck in Portugal, decommissioned in Sept. & then imported to Houston by me. I drove it back from Houston.

LHD, 12v 3b, 4 speed roughly 104,xxxkms.

I just replaced all of the coolant & heater hoses as they were pretty old. That means new coolant as well, and I'm going to be doing the oil/filter soon as well (or if someone buys it before I do it, then you can have the oil & filter for it). The same goes for the gear oil in the diffs, etc...

Truck runs spectacularly & everything works as far as I can tell, other than the light on the dash for the glow system. I haven't really dug into that yet.

Overall it is a clean truck, but it does have some problems that I can see.
1. Body bent under the drivers area. Looks like they dropped it onto a rock or something & bent the bottom part of the tub inward a bit.
2. Body is mostly really clean, but the floors are rusty as heck for some reason. I'm assuming the firemen kept a pump or something mounted in the back, as much of the floor (pics below) is in horrible shape. At some point, they installed a diamond plate floor over most of the truck. It is well done & sealed to the original floor, but clearly not original. Not really a problem for someone wanting a rig to take into the mountains, as I think it is well done & will last for years. But definitely an issue to consider if you are wanting a super pristine, restored rig. In that scenario, it will need a new floor.
3. It has some surfacerust spots here & there, beyond the above mentioned floor issues. The amby doors are solid, but have surface rust all over the bottom. This should be resolved sooner, rather than later, to make sure it doesn't become real cancer.

Asking price is $17.5k, and willing to be a bit creative regarding possible trades, other than I can't afford to do some sort of straight swap, on it.
Thanks,
Abe

Interested parties would be best served to check it out in person, and I'm more than willing to help with arrangements if you want to do so.
Best,
Abe

First two pics are of the truck when it was still a firetruck in Portugal. The bubble lights & such do not come with the truck.

I'm over in GJ. Would love to see this vehicle. Can't make it over until the end of the week. I have cash though....

Depending on the day of the week, I'd be happy to drive up through the tunnel & meet you in Summit County for you to check it out. I could make it a snowboard day, with some cruiser love thrown in for fun! That would make it a bit easier for you at least.
Best,
Abe
