Ok y'all, who's upgraded their 80 series headlights to LED and what do you recommend? Brands / Models
Looks like they're 9005 bulbs for high beam and 9006 for low beam.
Thinking about just doing the high beams to start here.

Thanks :)

I did the HID upgrade from DDR tuning here in Vista. The lights are bright but have a warm up period and sometimes shut down when over heated. So of the LED's are probably better now.

I have been using these for a few years. They are really bright, no heat issues, but it seems like I replace one every 9 months or so. I am sure there are better brands, I just haven't bothered to look. Every time I have to replace one I have to buy 2 so I always seem to have a spare.

I see these have a fan on them, moving parts on something like this always concerns me. I have to wonder if your LED failures occur after the fan dies... I'd much prefer a device that is passively cooled. Not always possible in tight spaces though.

Let me know what you find. I admit I am in that one - click rut where I just order more in 10 seconds when I see one going dim.

They are seriously bright though. You can see them on during the day.

I have been using the John deere HIR bulbs for the last 10 years, much brighter, but require clipping a tab on the bulb to fit.

I have been using

been very happy with them

I ran the Heise 25 watt bulbs for my low beams for 3 years before they quit. Not a bright as I liked but they did a good job. They did have a strobe effect visible to the eye and very visible on video. I'm still running the hi-beam version of these (which are also my daytime driving lights and also have a strobe effect).

I replaced the low beams with the Heise 35 watt bulbs (pic following). Nice and bright and no strobe effect at all. But they have the fan unit (as @Bud_Dude knows cuz I put them in at his place). But they go inside the "waterproof" enclosure for my low beams so I'm not sure what good the fan is going to do. I've had them in for about 3 months and 🤞so far no problems. If they go 6 months I will probably replace my hi beams cuz I'm not a fan of the strobe effect. I'll keep y'all posted if the low beams burn out.

Anyone have any experience with these? Looks like they come in 9006 & 9005?

I have used those for years, different brand but same type of product. They are seriously bright.

Correct. I just use the bulbs.
