It would be REALLY hard for me to drop $30k on a truck with little to no maintenance records. Especially one from South America or the Middle East where they generally get pretty abused. There's always exceptions of course. But prices are cooling on these trucks. Parts/labor and their needs are NOT cooling in price.
thnks for the advise ill try to send him a message.

i know that 30k is lot, when I saw it and drove it I don't think I saw any major issue, the only thing that did throw me off was that it wasn't locked, but apart from that I didn't see any big thing, apart from what the other people pointed out.

Nice, I bought my Cruiser from Thomas, if that's who you are buying it from.
it is actually, how was your dealing with him?

how was the truck?

did you have any major issues not posted or "hidden" from you?

The early 1HDT motors did have some big end bearing issues, could be worth checking and replacing if needed. Fuel pump could need rebuilding soon depending on the vehicles maintenance. Otherwise, you can’t really go wrong as long you’re ok with the price.

Thanks! I've heard about the BEB, I have to look into the price for the fuel pump, I haven't thought about it, thanks for you help!

yes sir im buying from arkensas, and importing it to mexico.
$30k seems a bit much but prices have been all over the place. I have a 1990 HDJ81 RHD and I probably paid a bit too much but it’s been a great truck. Maintenance…..yeah, here and there, just finished up a complete AC system refurb and upgrade from R12 to R134a. Not cheap but nice cool air. Make sure you do a thorough baseline maintenance check…..all fluids at least. Compression test possibly.

Hi,

The 1HDT is a great motor, they do tend to have slighty more power, from my experience, than the 24 valve 1HDFT due to less emission equipment.
Not after a tune of the 1HDFT

169 hp for the 1-HDT…..190 hp for the HD-FT (?)
The FT generally has quite a quite conservative boost compensator setting from factory, presumably for emissions reasons so the 1HDT does feel sharper especially at the bottom end. Adjust this and everything else being equal, they're definitely no less snappy than a 1HDT and definitely breathe better in the higher RPM. A 3" exhaust makes a massive difference too.

I shipped a 1995 24 Valve with a 1HDFT Motor for a customer in the US, it didn´t have the EGR system fitted and it had much more go than a later 24 valve with the ERG.
