Reckless Super Charger Build Thread

We are having two issues left with putting this together:
1.) Below super charger pulley is not lined up perfectly with ac compressor. Should we move pulley out to line it up perfectly with AC compressor? It starts slipping currently since the SC is a bit more inward.

2.) Having issues with getting the MAP3ECU programmed. Hiring someone to come out to program it.

How did this work out? I was having problems with my pulleys last winter and made a thread about it.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series...s-your-pulley-belt-arrangement-look-like.html

Ultimately I had a couple issues, the SC was creating enough force to take my worn out tensioner and cause it to eat serpentine belts. I had alignment issues with pulleys too and just had a local shop line up the belt to the SC. I had to replace the pulley on my AC compressor too, it's bearing wore out shortly after installing the SC.

Right now the last problem I am having is that we have tried 10 different pulleys and all of them seem to be slightly off. Anyone have any insight on this? When we give full throttle the pully comes loose a bit off the tensioner.

Any reason you can't just turn one on a lath to your spec's? (Other than maybe not having a lath...)

I'm sure for not too much money you could have one made. Just make sure you allow for bearings and find the right bearings.

I had the same issue last winter. The issue was the tensioner (which I replaced) and the serpentine belt length. I ended up taking off one of the guiding pulleys as well.

If You do need a pulley custom made, call these folks:

I had them make a custom crank pulley for me for a 10 rib drive GT500 mp122 supercharger that we put on my Dad's old Dodge truck...

They cut the belt groove and anodized it. Turned out nice and they aren't terribly high...

(Maybe $200 to make a pulley work for You?)

I have the exact same set up on my 03 100, except for the silencer on the EMS exhaust. I love my SC, the key is getting i properly tuned. Im getting 13MPG after retuning, running 35's, and front and rear BIOR steal bumpers.

My tensioner went out as well, I had it replaced and the pulley aligned properly.

Mine is running great right now but it was street tuned. I couldn't find an ECU programmer who knew MAP ECU who had a 4wd dyno. In Chicago it seemed everyone was using the same guy. It took him over a month to do mine that was after we discovered the ECU harness was wired incorrectly (took 1+ month to figure that out).

The SC does add alot to the Land cruiser, it isnt a real speed demon but I no longer have to think about lane changes, as soon as there is an opening I can pull it and keep moving. Makes the car much more fun to drive as I am used to driving powerful german V12s.

You got me thinking about the BIOR steel bumpers at least for the rear. I currently have a steel push bar in front right now that looks nice to me.

I always thought push bars didn't and brush guards did, part of the reason i went push bar.
