I was somewhat disappointed on a recent outing when I had great difficulty climbing some mild slopes covered with leaves. The other two 80s before me breezed up with no issues, and at the first mild slope I got stuck with my Toyo MTs. They were not running MTs, but can't recall the brand, but they were essentially ATs. There was a 60 series with swampers that handled the mud and leaves with ease. My Toyos are about 50% and I did not air down at first, but I later did with little to no affect. It seems my wider 11.5" tire was definitely a disadvantage on this type of terrain compared to the narrower tires the others had. It quickly became a winching fiasco and with the sun setting we decided to call it quits and headed back out. Thinking my next tire will be tall and thin. Thoughts?
