Started the thread in the early pickup forum but I had a question some of you might be able to answer. The mini truck forum isn't very active. :-(. The PO plugged what seems to be perfectly good vacuum hose running from something called the TVSV to the auxiliary accelerator pump on the carburetor. Any ideas why this would be done? The vehicles idle is erratic and it backfires when off throttle/turning off the truck. Also, if interested I've started the thread for rebuilding the carb in the mini truck forum as well. Hope everyone had a good new year.

On the Cruisers a lot of people ditch the vacuum line going from the VSV to the distributor in the case of the vacuum advance or retard based upon if you have points or not. I'd take a look at the factory diagram and hook it back up the way it was intended and see if you get better response from the carb. Make sure you have vacuum from the VSV or TVSV (which I think adds turbo boost also in turbo equipped mini's). Does your truck have a Turbo?

No turbo on the truck. The manual shows it connected. I can't seem to find the "thermo" valve either... Whatever that is. I'm going to continue with the rebuild and hook everything up like it's supposed to be. Well see what happens :-)
