In what order of difficulty would experienced folks grade major components in bananas?
I would consider injector pump amongst the most difficult due to very expensive, specific equipment necessary, so lots of bananas and perhaps highest.

Wheel bearings, brakes and suspension more accessible to most and less bananas..

in order; injector pump, steer box, transmission, engine, transfer, differential?

Perhaps engine is more straight forward than transmission due to requiring machine shop to conduct the machining. So less bananas for engine. If one manages spill test and timing.

Someone who has done it all would know better than I. I am omitting panel and chassis work as it is a different kind of mechanics..

EDIT: previous response was light harted.

In seriousness it's very hard to write any kind of meaningful material to the above post. Everyone finds different things challenging, myself I don't mind electrical stuff whereas others absolutely hate it. If you were just hoping for a fun conversation, the 70 series tech section probably isn't going to yield the best results.

Bodywork can't be cheese. I like cheese. I dislike bodywork.

fair enough, must admit I don't like body work, but don't mind electrics. depends on the person. all easier second time around.

I knew an acrobat who thought back somersaults were easier than back flips..

I do avionics for a living. I did electronics in the navy and worked at fluke. Wiring is nothing lol

Here's my list:
Anything mechanical, electrical, involving any sort of tool, or has "specs" = :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
Washing the LC = :banana::banana::banana:
driving the LC = :banana::banana:
drinking a beer and talking about my LC = :banana:

I think I covered everything.

The last one I use a lot.

People ask why I don't drive most of my cars
(17k miles in 11 years on my lightning
1400 miles in 8 years on my 68)

Because I enjoy just looking at them.

1 banana

should have asked what is the most difficult job one has done on their landcruiser..besides panel work

For me, I'd imagine for the average wrencher it'd be a rebuild of an engine or trans.

An auto trans scares me enough I pay people.

My lightning is 730hp and is built by me. Not much scares me.

I haven't done much to mine.
Timing belt - 1 banana
Front end rebuild - 3 because it's a ****ing mess

wow, 730hp, what is a lightning?

A lightning is an f150 touched by the hands at ford's svt.

Made from 93-95 and from 99-04. Mine is an 01. Bone stock they make about 350hp to the tires.
